DAAD Masters Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance



Description:

The DAAD Masters scholarships for Public and Good Government Program Policy offers very good graduates from developing countries the opportunity to earn a master's degree in disciplines that are of particular relevance to the social, political and economic development of their country of origin at German institutions of higher education.

Scholarships are awarded to selected master courses at German higher education institutions listed below:

• Hertie School of Governance, Berlin: Master of Public Policy (MPP)
• University of Duisburg-Essen: MA Development and Governance
• Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt: Master of Public Policy (MPP)
• Leuphana University of Lüneburg: Public Economics, Law and Politics (LRSP)
• Hochschule Osnabrück: Managing Nonprofit Organizations
• University of Osnabrück: Master in Democratic Governance and Civil Society
• University of Passau: Master of Government and Public Policy
• University of Potsdam: Master of Public Management (MPM)

The courses have an international orientation and are taught in German and / or English.

The scholarship program is open to candidates from Africa, Latin America, North / Central America, South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The list of eligible countries.

These grants / Inclusions:

DAAD scholarship holders are exempt from tuition fees. DAAD will pay a monthly scholarship rate of currently € 750. The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany.

In addition, the DAAD provides adequate allocation of travel and study research grants and rent subsidies and / or the rights of spouses and / or children in their case.

Eligibility of Students:

The objectives of the well qualified scholarship graduates with a bachelor's degree (BA or equivalent) in the future want to actively contribute to social and economic development of their countries of origin. Scholarships are offered for both young graduates without work experience and for mid-career professionals.

The main criteria of the DAAD for selection are: the results of the study, knowledge of English (and German), political and social commitment, a compelling description of motivation related material and personnel for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit after the return to the country of origin.

The degree should have been obtained during the six years prior to the application of the scholarship. Applicants can not be considered if they have been in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of the application.

All Master courses have more additional requirements that must be met by applicants in any case.

Application Instructions:

Please send your requests for courses selected for the master and DAAD scholarship only to the respective universities (not DAAD). Please fill out the application form DAAD, indicating the priority you want to study courses. The registration deadline in 8 universities is 1 June - 31 July 2016.
