Roehampton University-Sacred Heart (RUSH) PhD Studentships


Description:
Thanks to the generous funding by the Society of the Sacred Heart, three are fully funded, are in full-time PhD studentships for new foreign students are available, starting October 1, 2017. The studentships for the support of three candidates with a strong academic record and are the potential for scientific excellence with doctorates.
Candidates from lower and middle-income countries is preferred to be given. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to contribute to their home community through their planned research project or area of study and their future career plans.

PhD program, where the planned research project or field of study, for example in the fields of education, human rights, theology / philosophy, all other topics. For justice, community service, environmental development
This is only a preliminary list; Disciplinary areas are excluded, and to provide concrete projects and intentions to contribute to meet the students rated home community in terms of the broad criterion..

Open to all international students but preference will be given to candidates from lower or middle income countries
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
The scholarship covers the fees at overseas rates, stipend at Research Council UK rates, currently £16,057 (tax-free), and contribution to research project costs.
The scholarships are for 3 years, subject to annual assessments of  satisfactory progress.
Eligibility of Students:
You must meet the standard requirements for PhD study at Roehampton. The criteria are:
•  Academic excellence – record to date and potential
• Nationality and domicile (candidates must declare all nationalities held; preference will be given to those who are solely citizens of and domiciled in lower-middle income countries*)
• Commitment to contributing to the student’s home community
• Fit of proposed project to the research environment at Roehampton and available supervisory expertise
